Airport Construction and Design
We have extensive experience in airport construction and design under diverse conditions. Several of our past projects were developed under unique design requirements because of poor soil conditions, topography and other constraints. Such projects require innovative design and construction management techniques at which our engineers excel. We pay strict attention to design and closely monitor construction activities to ensure FAA specification compliance.

The construction phase of a project requires on-site control of scheduling, costs and quality to ensure progress and successful completion. We offer a full-time resident inspector on all construction projects to serve as a liaison for the client, contractor and our office.

Airport Master Planning
Our staff members are highly qualified professionals with expertise in airport management, physical planning, engineering, environmental science and socioeconomics. Our firm provides comprehensive airport master and aviation planning emphasizing existing deficiencies and recommending feasible, practical short-term solutions. Short-term and long-term airport development needs are identified and prioritized in the capital improvement planning process.

Airspace Compatibility Analysis
Comprehensive airspace compatibility analyses are an integral component of any aeronautical study. Recommendations developed in conjunction with airport master and aviation system plans, compatible land use plans and environmental assessments usually have a direct impact on the terminal airspace and occasionally impact the airspace on a regional scale. Armstrong Consultants provides the aviation skills necessary to evaluate airspace impacts resulting from new or expanded airfield systems, noise abatement procedures, preferential flight track utilization and changes in Air Traffic Control and pilot operating procedures.

Use of Local Qualified Subconsultants
We make every effort to use qualified local subconsultants. Because of the logistical efficiency, we typically use local subconsultants for aerial photography and mapping, environmental inventories, surveying, soils drilling and construction testing. This approach provides an efficient balance between our specialized airport planning and engineering services and the insight of locally familiar subconsultants.
